Ag Field Service Technician

Purpose:
Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or
dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service
Manager or Service Supervisor.
Responsibilities and Duties:
o Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag
Management Solutions (AMS) products.
o Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
o Performs diagnosis and repair in the field as required.
o Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
o Conducts or supports customer clinics.
o Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
o Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment.
o Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
o Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
o Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
o Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties.
o Participate in the on-call program.
o Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
o Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
o Never operate any equipment you are not properly trained on and have not inspected prior to using, for
example, but not limited to, vehicles, tractors, forklifts, mowers, drill press, grinder, hydraulic press,
welders, and other general equipment.
o Follow all safety rules, policies, procedures, and Job Safety Analysis for each job. These are found in
Teams/General Channel/BelkorpAg/Safety.
o Report all unsafe findings you see to your manager immediately or through Everyone Speaks anonymously
on Teams/General Channel/Everyone Speaks.
o Report all injuries, near misses, and accidents within the hour to your Manager, Supervisor, or Risk
Supervisor.
o Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
o 5+ years of experience (or equivalent) performing service repairs.
o Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical
Manual procedures on the machines of the Technician’s specialty.
o Ability to maintain labor performance and billable hours according to Service Leaders.
o Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf
equipment.
o Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
o Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.

o Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly
o Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred
